Diversity Statement ECWR holds diversity and inclusivity as core values of the organization. We welcome everyone regardless of race, age, ethnicity, physical ability, gender, sexual orientation, social economic standing, or church affiliation. As Christians inclusion is an integral element of our theology and what we believe God purposed the church to do in this world. The inclusiveness of God’s love is evident in the life of Jesus and a foundational principle throughout the gospels. Guiding Principles of Diversity The Board of Directors adopted the following Guiding Principles of Diversity to insure ECWR is open and affirming to all people. It is our missions to provide a safe place to everyone in “all the ways we are similar and all the ways we differ”.

EVANGELICALS is our first name. It's been our first name since Evangelicals Concerned was founded in 1975. But just as nobody should naively buy into whatever might be presented in the anti-gay or pro-gay press about "the gay agenda", "the gay lifestyle" or everything that passes in a Pride Parade, nobody should naively buy into whatever might be presented in the anti-gay or pro-gay press about evangelicals.
Evangelicals Concerned (EC, Inc.) is one of the many new Christian groups and churches which has emerged since the advent of the gay liberation movement. While both minister primarily to gays and lesbians, there are some significant differences between the two types of organizations.
